Power Plant |
GDI's Power Plant provides your buildings with power. Extra generators can be bought to put into one of the four slots to increase the powerplant's effectiveness; they already have one to start with. The thing I don't like with this is that if your power plant is destroyed and you have lots of generators, your power output will go way down. A cool feature though, is that if some have been destroyed, you can cut off power to certain buildings while you bring the power level back up.

Barracks |
This is the building where all of GDI's elite infantry are trained before entering the battlefield.
Weapon Factory
This is where all of GDI's land units are created. A very important structure, to say the least.
Technology Research Center
This building gives you the ability to build some of the more advanced structures. It is the equivalent of Nod's Tech Research Center.
Communications Center
No doubt one of the most useful structures in the game. In it's original state, it provides radar, but with the proper upgrades, it can also provide Hunter Seeker Droids, Threat Assessment for defenses and control of the almighty Ion Cannon.

Firestorm Defense

GDI's counter of the Stealth Generator. If you can't see 'em, make sure they don't get near your base. The Firestorm Defense creates a large forcefield around your base to keep attackers and attackers' fire away. The shots are absorbed by the forcefield, but be warned, as the generator powering it can be overloaded.

Helipad
Your standard Helipad as seen in the original, only this time they will play a more important part. Since there are now several air units, having sufficient Helipads may be more important than ever. They are used for reloading helicopters, so they can rejoin the battle at hand.
Repair Bay
Pretty much the same as in the two previous C&C titles, the Repair Bay will be a place to bring damaged units up to full strength for a small fee. This can be a very important structure.
Wall
Building a wall around your base will help keep out uninvited visitors. It can also prevent deadly and useless Tiberium vines from spreading into your base.
GDI Gate
The GDI gate will lower when any friendly unit is near, to let that unit in. It stays open, however, for a sneaky Nod unit to gain entrance into the base...

Guard Tower
While not new to the C&C series, they are modified though. Now you have a choice of weapons to mount on these, and they can be set right into a wall. The three we
